Market Beef Identification Day

February 20, 2021

  • To be eligible for the 2021 Weld County Fair and Junior Livestock Sale, all market beef animals must be identified.
  • Identifying will be done ONLY on Saturday, February 20, 2021 at the following location:

711 “O” Street, Greeley
8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

  • Animals might be weighed.  Weld County Fair Board is working on trying to get a scale.
  • Retinal scans, and/or DNA will be collected on ALL market beef for the Weld County Fair and as requested for the Colorado State Fair.
  • A $4.00 fee for retinal scans, ear tags and brand inspection will be collected at this time. Checks can be made payable to Weld County Fair.

Calves will be brand inspected.  You need to bring the following documentation with you:

Valid proof of ownership

  • In-state animal needs a brand certificate, including the home raised cattle
  • If you do not have a brand certificate, bring your bill of sale to Market Beef ID
  • If just purchased, animal needs a bill of sale
  • If coming from Out-of-state, animal needs a bill of sale and health papers

You are required to contact the Brand Office at (970) 352-8622 prior the weigh-in to get your brand certificates.  Brand Certificates will not be written at weigh-in.  All Brand Certificate fees will be paid by the exhibitor to the Brand Office.

There will be NO make-up date.  All cattle need to be identified on February 20, 2021
