Shooting Sports Certification Training

If you are interested in becoming a Certified Shooting Sports Leader, in any discipline, trainings will be offered across the state this Spring. To attend the training, you must be an enrolled, approved leader for Weld County 4-H. This requires online training videos, background check, and reference check.

Dates for the coming trainings are listed below. There will be a limited number of slots per discipline. You must be an approved leader to sign up for the training.  The process of becoming a leader can take 4 weeks.

There are only 4 shooting sports certification workshops in the state including:

  • Weld County (Greeley), March 13 – March 15, 2020 for Rifle, Pistol, Shotgun and Archery.  Registration opens January 31st and closes February 28th.
  • Pueblo County (Pueblo), March 20 – March 22, 2020 for Rifle, Pistol, Shotgun, Archery, Muzzleloader, Western Heritage and Hunting/Outdoor Skills.   Registration opens February 7th and closes March 6th.
  • Garfield County (Rifle), March 27 - March 29, 2020 for Rifle, Pistol, Shotgun, Archery, Muzzleloader, Western Heritage and Hunting/Outdoor Skills.  Registration opens February 14th and closes March 13th.
  • Arapahoe County (Littleton), April 3 – April 5, 2020 for Rifle, Pistol, Shotgun and Archery.  Registration opens February 21st and closes March 20th. Orion Training will be held on April 4th only. Registration information for Orion training coming soon.
