Speech Arts Contest

We are excited to be partnering with Front Range Counties for the Regional Speech Contest on April 25th at Adams County Fairgrounds! This is open to any member ages 5 to 18 that want to tackle public speaking. There are numerous divisions that youth can participate in. Deadline to register is April 12th.

It is important to be able to share your ideas and knowledge in a concise manner that others will understand, making presentation skills essential tools for use in clubs, work and college. Therefore, plan to participate in the speech contests to increase your experience and knowledge.  Members can do a demonstration or illustrated talk, prepared speech, impromptu speech, interpretive presentation, horse demonstration and horse prepared speech. 

The Public Presentation Contest is open to all 4-H members including Cloverbuds. 

Front Range Regional Speech Contest Rules(PDF, 303KB)

The age divisions in all contests will be: 

  • Junior (8-10)
  • Intermediate (11-13)
  • Senior (14-18). 
  • Cloverbuds can participate for a recognition ribbon only. 

The top winners in each category can advance to the State 4-H Contest.
