Metalworking

The metalworking project is designed to help young people learn how to build and design metal projects.  Members will learn about different welders, welding techniques and metal by participating in the experiences of this project.

Metalworking

Inspiring youth to:

  • Understand the proper personal protective equipment for welding
  • Be able to identify the different weldable metals and the different shapes of metal stock
  • Identify the five different types of welding joints
  • Understand the various methods to cut, bend and shape metal
  • Understand the three most common welding processes
  • Weld three different samples of the welding joints
  • Construct a welding project using the skills learned
