Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a program cost?

The cost for programming is dependent on the number of youth and the type of program that is delivered. Costs may cover materials and supplies for hands-on learning, such as crafting materials, embryology incubators, gardening supplies, etc. Costs will be discussed and agreed upon before programming starts.

Who facilitates the programs?

All programs are overseen by Weld County Extension staff. Facilitators may include Extension staff or trained volunteers. All volunteers are required to undergo a background check prior to working with youth.

Where does the curriculum come from?

Weld County Extension has unique access to materials and expertise from this land-grant university regarding the mental, physical, social and emotional development of young people, and works to connect those resources to youth in our community. Each program is designed with Colorado Academic Standards in mind and focuses on incorporating a wide range of learning styles and teaching techniques.

How can I get involved?

We are always seeking energetic, organized, and flexible volunteers for our various outreach programs. All volunteers are required to fill out an application, do online training and undergo a background check prior to working with youth. To get started, please go to the Become a Leader Page.
