National 4-H Conference
National 4-H Conference is an annual event planned and conducted by The National 4-H Headquarters. The purpose of the conference is to solicit input from a diverse cross-section of the Cooperative Extension System to strengthen and expand the 4-H Youth Development program at local, state, & national levels. This event brings together youth, volunteer leaders, state, and county Extension staff from across the U.S., its territories, and the Canadian Provinces. National 4-H Conference is in March. Members must be between 15 and 18 years of age as of December 31 of the previous year to participate in this event. For more information, contact Kim.
National 4-H Congress
National 4-H Congress is held Thanksgiving weekend in Atlanta, Georgia. 4-H members from all 50 states and Puerto Rico attend Congress. Going to Congress is often the highlight of a 4-H member's career. While at Congress, delegates hear inspirational speakers, participate in cultural workshops, take part in a large-scale community service project, visit the historical sites of Atlanta, dance, eat, and meet new friends.
A 4-H member may attend National Congress only once. Senior member that receive Grand Champion at Colorado State Fair in specific projects will be the Colorado delegates to National4-H Congress in Atlanta. If you are qualify as a delegate, you will be notified. For more information, contact Kim.
Western National Roundup
Western National Roundup is held in January in Denver, Colorado. 4-H members across America attend this conference. Senior members who qualify through a state contest are able to attend. While at Western National Roundup, member have the opportunity to participate in National Contests, attend workshops, visit National Western Stock Show, dance and meet new friends. Colorado State Citizenship Washington Focus
Citizenship Washington Focus (CWF) is a 4-H leadership program for high school youth. Delegations of 15-19 year olds from across the country attend this six-day program at the National 4-H Youth Conference Center. Any Weld County 4-H member 15 years of age and older who has outstanding accomplishments and leadership may apply. If you are part of the Weld County Citizenship Washington Focus program, you are not eligible to apply for the Colorado State CWF trip. For more information, contact Kim.
International 4-H Youth Exchange (formerly known as IFYE) Traveling Program
Participants, ages 19-30, visit a foreign country for three to six months. The delegate lives and works with host families, gaining a unique perspective about another culture. Representatives have the opportunity to visit countries in: Africa, Asia, Australia, Eastern Europe, Latin America, and Western Europe. Upon return to the U.S., the delegate travels to Colorado communities to share experiences and broaden awareness. The Colorado 4-H Youth Fund offers two full scholarships each year (personal spending money excluded). Applications due November 1st each year.
