Mardi Gras

Dr Seuss Rules!  2025 Mardi Gras benefits Weld County 4-H Foundation

The Weld County 4-H Mardi Gras, held on Saturday, November 22nd was very successful, raising approximately $30,000 for the Weld County 4-H Foundation.  Members, leaders and parents should take pride in this fundraising effort.  If you have suggestions for improving the 2026 4-H carnival, please call Teresa at (970) 400-2070.  A Mardi Gras Round Up Meeting—and planning for 2026 will be held at the Extension Office on January 6th at 6 pm prior to the Youth Executive Council Meeting.  Thanks to all for taking our imaginations to “The Places We’ll Go”!

Outstanding leaders, who had been named during Recognition Night in October were awarded their jackets during the event, these included: Outstanding Recognized: Mesa Arnold (Jr), Ena Gibson (Sr), Luke and Tami Arnold (Leaders

The 5th annual Weld County 4-H Foundation Raffle was held in 2025! The Yeti Tail Gating Package was the item to win. $7,000 worth of tickets were sold throughout the County with ½ of the proceeds going directly to the club or organization selling the tickets and the other half benefitting Weld 4-H through the Weld 4-H Foundation. The drawing for the Yeti Package took place at Mardi Gras with Liz Hart being named the winner.

The County also held a silent auction hosted by Rocky Mountain Estate Brokers that was a great success as well.  The Club winning the most Creative Basket was Pawsitive Direction 4-H with their “Go Dog Go Wagon”.  The other two divisions; Highest Value went to Caliber 4-H Club with their donation of a rifle valued at $1000 & selling for $950 & Highest Profit went to Grover Guys and Gals with their Zoo Lights basket  that sold for 100% of its value of $115.  The 3 clubs winning these divisions get a check for $125 to be used for a Club Party.  The Silent Auction grossed over $17,000 including the Club Basket Challenge.

These were great fundraisers for our clubs and groups!  We hope you will participate in next year’s events—watch for the announcement of our 2025 Raffle Item.  For more questions, please contact Kim Eastwood, 970-400-2079 or Teresa Johnson (970) 400-2070.
