Weld County Extension Office is closed September 1st for Labor Day and will reopen on Tuesday, September 2nd.
Meat Pen Tattoo Day will be Sunday, July 6, 2025 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Liberty Park in Ault, CO and is MANDATORY for all Market Project members. You are encouraged to bring as many of your kits as you would like. All rabbits that you use in your pen at fair, must have a tattoo issued at this event by the superintendent, assistant superintendent, or their authorized designee. You MUST BRING THE DOES that birthed each animal for identification purposes. Should something happen to your doe, please contact Terrie Hersh at 970-227-9631 or hersh3@live.com and we will work with you on options. Weld County Fair requires that all animals entered in your pen are raised by you. This means breeding your doe, raising the kits, and selecting your pen. Purchased meat pens are not permissible.
All rabbits entered in the 2024 Weld County Fair (market/breeding) must possess a permanent tattoo in their left ear, reading from bottom to top. Should you need a tattoo for your breeding project, please join us with your rabbit(s) at the Meat Pen Tattoo Day and we will get them taken care of for you. If that will not work, get ahold of Terrie and they can get you setup with someone to get them done.
